Dr. Faran Shoaib Naru

Faran Naru teaches Economics and Public Policy at CPPG and his research interests include economic development; particularly the miraculous growth of East Asian states and how such growth can be achieved in Pakistan. Dr. Naru has a PhD Degree in International Politics from Fudan University, Shanghai, China. His doctoral thesis focused on industrial policy and global commodity trade. Dr. Naru also holds a degree of Master of Public Policy (MPP) from Brown University, United States, and MBA (Master of Business Administration) from IBA Karachi.

Dr. Naru has around 10 years of teaching, research and consulting experience. In his former appointments, he taught Master of Public Policy class at University of Management and Technology’s School of Governance and Society and taught MBA class at University of Central Punjab’s Business School. Apart from teaching, he has also conducted various short term research projects for gLAWcal, United Nations and Asian Development Bank. Dr. Naru is trained in Chinese language which he looks forward to put to use in spearheading China specific research at CPPG.
