Hajra Zafar

Hajra Zafar is Research Associate at the Centre for Public Policy & Governance, FC College. She obtained her Masters in Economics from Boston University in May 2010. She was selected for a prestigious USAID funded scholarship program entitled WLTIE (Women’s Leadership Training in Economics) for her graduate studies.

Hajra’s research interests are in the fields of Environmental policy, Development strategies and Industrial policy and her Masters research papers include Social Justice and Climate change, Analyzing Changes in Economic Policies of Poland: A Historical Perspective and The Basel approach to Bank regulation. Her recent research includes Industrial Policy in Punjab: A Case Study of Sunder Industrial Estate which presents a critical appraisal of the industrial estate along with policy challenges and recommendations. Another recent research paper titled “Changing trends in the lifestyle of Pakistani youth” analyzes how shifting societal and cultural trends have influenced and transformed youth lifestyles.

Currently she is teaching a course “Introduction to Accounting, Statistics and Economics” as part of the Executive Masters program in Public Policy. She is also Co-editor for the Research & News Quarterly journal of the Centre. Additionally she has acted as a focal member of the CPPG team in forming collaboration with strategic partners and institutions for the seminars and policy dialogues held at the Centre.
