Professor Dr. Tahir Kamran is the Chairperson of the Department of History at Government College University. He is currently holding Iqbal Chair at Wolfson College University of Cambridge in the Centre of South Asian Studies. He holds a PhD on the legislative politics of the Colonial Punjab. He is the author of four books and has extensively written National and International research papers on culture, identity sectarianism, democracy, governance and the history of Punjab. He has been a visiting fellow at Southampton University and in the School of Oriental and African Studies at Cambridge University. He is also a founder of bi-annual journal “The Historian” of the History Department of Government College University.
