Professor Jean-Luc Racine is CNRS Senior Fellow, Centre for South Asian Studies at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences, Paris, and Associate Fellow at the Asia Centre at Sciences-Po, Paris. His research is focused on key issues including the geopolitics of South Asia particularly India-Pakistan relations, the foreign and security policy of Pakistan, the dynamics of emerging India, and India’s new foreign and security policy. He teaches South Asia geopolitics at the French Institute for Geopolitics, Paris 8 University and India’s political economy at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS), Paris. He co-edited Pakistan. Contours of State and Society, OUP 2002 with Soofia Mumtaz and Imran Ali. He has recently edited a special issue of the French journal of geopolitics Hérodote on the Geopolitics of Pakistan (December 2010). His last edited book (in French, 2009) deals with India and Asia.
