Mr. Olivier Mongin is a writer, publisher and co editor of the journal Tousurbains. He is the Vice President of the French Union for Cultural and Scientific Press and a member of the forum for mobile lives of the French National Railway Company. Among other publications, he published a trilogy on democratic passions) La peur du rire, La violence des images, Eclats de rire. He has done extensive reseach on urbanization and globalization in European context. He has also published books on intellectual life of Paul Ricoeur and on political life of President Sarkozy. He approaches contemporary globalization as irreducible to economics and takes into account recent territorial dynamics.

Mr. Mongin has also taught Political Philosophy at the University of Lyon II and at the Centre Sevres in Paris.
