A seminar on ‘Walking for Maryam’s Grace: Christian Piety in the Pakistani Punjab‘ was held at Centre For Public Policy and Governance (CPPG), FCCU.
CPPG Founding Director Dr.Saeed Shafqat chaired the session. Distinguished Guest Speaker was Dr. Paul Rollier.
Dr. Rollier is Assistant Professor in South Asian Studies at the University of St Gallen, Switzerland and at the University of Oslo, Norway. Trained in social anthropology and languages (Hindi and Urdu), his research is located at the intersection of the study of religion, politics and law in South Asia. After completing his PhD (SOAS), he undertook post-doctoral research at the University College, London as part of a large project investigating the nexus between politics and crime across South Asia. Dr. Rollier is currently working on a book manuscript that explores how religious differences and belonging are discussed and contested in the Pakistani city of Lahore.
