Distinguished Guest Speaker

Dr. Jonathan Mitchell is the Founder and President of Concentric Development Inc., which is a nonprofit organization to help development organizations become more effective at alleviating poverty in the developing world. His academic background in Physics, Public Policy and international environmental management along with 25 years of work experience has given him unique perspectives on what is effective in the long term and how to measure the impact of development efforts. Dr. Mitchell has done his Master’s in Public Policy from Princeton University and PhD in Geography from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Dr. Mitchell has extensive experience in education and economic development program design and implementation at local, regional and national levels. He has worked in Indonesia, Pakistan and South Africa. He has used his analytical skills to design and implement complex monitoring and evaluation programs for organizations such as the Aga Khan Development Network, the European Union, World Bank and the US Agency for the International Development (USAID).
