Merit List

Criteria

  • 16 years of education from any HEC-recognized university.
  • Open to all who fulfill the above criteria and have a degree in Social Sciences/Humanities/Sciences. A minimum of 2.0 CGPA or a conventional MA/MSc with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • At least four years work experience for all candidates.
  • Succeed in CPPG Entrance Test – 4 Sections: a) Comprehension and Precis Writing b) Quantitative (GMAT and SAT sort) c) Essay Writing d) Analysis and Reasoning.
  • Shortlisted candidates will appear for an interview.

Note: Acceptance is based upon the 1) departmental test, 2) interview, and 3) an overall evaluation of the candidate, including: academic achievement, statement of purpose, work experience and English language proficiency.

Provisional admission can be sought by students awaiting final results. Their admission will only be confirmed once they have submitted their complete official Transcript within the due dates.

  • Minimum CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) in the semester system or first division in the annual system in MPhil/MS/equivalent in any area related to physical sciences, social sciences, or humanities.
  • Passing a subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) or ETS (USA) in the area of specialization chosen at the PhD level.
  • In the case of the GAT subject test, a minimum of 60% marks are required.
  • In the case of the GRE subject test, a minimum of 60% score is required.
  • Passing a departmental test conducted by the CPPG.
  • Passing an interview conducted by the PhD admissions committee.
  • The candidate will submit a research statement along with the admission application.

NOTE: Acceptance to the PhD program is based upon the 1) GAT/GRE Score, 2) departmental Test, 3) interview, and 4) an overall evaluation of the candidate, including: academic achievement, research statement and English language proficiency.

Application Checklist

    1. Attested copy of the original Matriculation / O Level result (web downloaded results are not acceptable).
    • In case of the O Level, a minimum of 8 subjects must have been passed. They should include English, Mathematics and 3 compulsory subjects (Pakistan Studies, Islamiyat and Urdu).
    1. Attested copy of the original Intermediate / A Level / High School / IB result (web downloaded results are not acceptable).
    • In case of the A Level, a minimum of 3 subjects must have been passed.
    1. Attested copy of the O and A Level, High School or IB Equivalence Certificate (whichever applicable) issued by the IBCC.
    2. Attested copies of the final transcript and degree of 4-year Honors / 2-year Conventional Bachelor’s and 2-year Conventional Master’s.
    • In case you have not received your degree yet, you are required to apply for it.
    1. Students can submit their Transcript at least till the 7th semester at the time of Admission Form submission. If offered admission, it will be a provisional offer; they must submit an attested copy of their complete official Transcript within 30 days of the beginning of the semester.
    2. Students having a foreign Bachelor’s Degree must get their Equivalence from the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
    3. Two Reference Letters.
    4. Statement of Purpose (300 – 500 words) describing the reason(s) why the student is applying to the program, long-term goals and the reason(s) for selecting Forman Christian College (A Chartered University).
    5. One recent passport-sized photograph.
    6. One copy each of the Student’s CNIC and of the Father/Guardian
    7. Receipt of the Application Processing Fee (Rs. 3500).


    Note: All documents submitted must be attested by a Gazetted Officer.

    4. Research statement (1000 – 1500 words) where you would provide a concise write-up about the research theme that you would like to pursue. Include a brief description of your proposed research work plan as well.
    5. Two Reference Letters.
    6. One recent passport-sized photograph.
    7. One copy each of the Student’s CNIC and of the Father/Guardian
    8. Receipt of the Application Processing Fee (Rs. 3500).

Admission Form has to be submitted online. First you submit the ‘Inquiry Form’. Empower login details will be shared over email. Once you login to Empower, submit the Admission Form for your intended program of study.

Graduates of M-Phil Public Policy may look for teaching, analysis, research opportunities in Colleges, Think Tanks, Government, NGOs & IGOs, and private sector 

Executive MA participants are already working, and the degree supports them in achieving their career goals within the organization, or switch their career.

Can I take the M-Phil program while working?2022-01-04T16:22:03+00:00

MPhil is a rigorous full time program and cannot be taken along with full time work. We recommend that you either take time off or switch to part time work while taking the program. 

Can I take the Executive MA program while working?2022-01-04T16:21:17+00:00

Yes, the class hours are scheduled from 4pm – 8pm specifically for in-service people in mind. 

Should I enroll in Executive MA or in M-Phil program?2022-01-04T16:20:33+00:00

Exec MA is a professional program which caters to working professionals and requires a minimum of four years of work experience while MPhil is a research degree program which caters to young graduates.

Accommodation

On-campus Hostel facility is available for girls only. For boys, there is an option of getting a rented accommodation (in a shared house) around FCCU in Gulberg.
