On Tuesday March 7th 2017, the Centre for Public Policy and Governance (CPPG) at Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) and the World Wild Fund for Nature (WWF-Pakistan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalizing the two organization’s efforts to engage in meaningful collaborations.

The signing event took place at the Rector’s Office at FCC where Dr. Saeed Shafqat (Director CPPG) and Mr. Hammad Naqi Khan (Director General – WWF – Pakistan) carried out the formal ceremony with support from Dr. James Tebbe (Rector FCC). Mr. Sohail Ali Naqvi, Mr. Sohaib Anwar, Ms. Zonia Awan (WWF-Pakistan) and Ms. Saba Shahid (CCPG) also participated in the event.

The MoU signifies CPPG and WWF’s keenness to cooperate on research and policy advocacy on areas including, but not limited to, water, energy and climate change.
Other academic interactions such as student internships, lecture series and seminars are possible areas for partnership.
Earlier this year the two organizations worked together on hosting a two – day provincial workshop (7th, 8th February, 2017) on transboundary water governance entitled ‘Raising awareness and capacity of civil society on transboundary water governance in India and Pakistan’ at Avari Hotel, Lahore.
