Distinguished Guest Speaker:

Dr. Marvin Weinbaum is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research, teaching and consultancies have focused on the issues of national security, state building, democratization and political economy.

Dr. Weinbaum is the author and editor of 6 books including Afghanistan and Pakistan: Resistance and Reconstruction.  He has written more than 100 journal articles and book chapters mostly about Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt and Turkey. He is currently, Director Middle East Center, Washington, DC.
