Dr. Akmal Hussain is economist, author and social activist. Currently he is Distinguished Professor of Economics, Forman Christian College (A Chartered University), member Governing Board South Asia Centre for Policy Studies and Senior Fellow Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE). Dr. Hussain has helped building organization like Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Punjab Rural Support Program (PRSP).

Dr. Hussain is the author of three books on development policy and has co authored 27 other internationally published books on issues of poverty, peace and development. In addition to this he has also written large number of papers, reports and newspaper articles.
