Dr. Hasan Haider Karrar holds PhD in East Asian Studies from McGill University. He is Assistant Professor of History at the Lahore University of Management Sciences since 2011. He has also been Adjunct Faculty, Department of Global Studies; Department of History Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo) 2007 – 2010.

Dr. Karrar’s recent publication includes Review of Roy,D. 2013. Return of the Dragon: Rising China and Regional Security (2015). His research and teaching areas include Chinese and Central Asian History and Political Economy; International History; the Cold War and its Legacies; Border Regions; Transnationalism; War and Society; Ecology.
