Understanding Terrorism: Interpreting and Analyzing Data on Terrorism in Pakistan

Mr. Luqman Saeed is a young researcher who has been working on the subject of terrorism for sometime. His articles have been published in several academic journals. Currently, he is working as a Lecturer in Economics Department, Forman Christian College (A Chartered University).
His talk would be based on some of his ongoing research. He has been able to collect data on over 300 terrorists from the Counter Terrorism Wings of the Criminal Investigation Departments of regional police offices of Pakistan. His research raises issues of regional variation, levels of education, poverty and links with any and all these factors in explaining the patterns of terrorism in the country. His research provides a rare insight into terrorism in the country.
